Abstract
This Decree-Law is composed of five Chapters divided into 19 articles and five Annexes. It regulates the classification, packaging and labelling of dangerous substances to be placed in the market which are considered harmful for the human and the natural environment. The Decree-Law implements the Council Directive No. 67/548/ECC of 27 June 1967 and subsequent amendments such as the Directive No. 121 of 2006.

This Decree-Law repeals the following: a) Decree-Law No. 82/95 of 22 April, amended by Decree-Law No. 72-M/2003 of 14 April, and by Decree-Law No. 260/2003 of 21 October; b) Decree-Law No. 732-A/96 of 11 December, amended by Decree-Law No. 330-A/98 of 2 November, Decree-Law No. 209/99 of 11 June, Decree-Law No. 195-A/2000 of 22 August, Decree-Law No. 222/2001 of 8 August, Decree-Law No. 154-A/2002 of 11 June, Decree-Law No. 72-M/2003 of 14 April, and Decree-Law No. 27-A/2006 of 10 February; c) Ministerial Order No. 431/96 of 2 September.
