Abstract
This Ministerial Decision establishes the Code of Agricultural Good Practices – Protection of Water against Pollution Caused by Nitrates and phosphates of Agricultural Origin. The evolution of scientific knowledge, related to cultural techniques to be applied in an agriculture that allows to reconcile the increase of the production of food and other goods with the reduction of the environmental impact to which they originate. It imposes that the Code of Good Agricultural Practices (CBPA) for the protection of the water against the pollution with nitrates of agricultural origin should be periodically reviewed, providing the productive sector with basic information that allows the preservation of environmental quality, today constituting a major concern for Humanity, given the different threats that are continually arising, putting at risk its own survival. Crops will only be able to produce fully in quantity and quality if, in addition to other favorable environmental conditions, they have at their disposal, throughout the growing period, the various mineral nutrients (nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, calcium, magnesium, sulfur, iron , manganese, copper, zinc, nickel, boron, molybdenum and chlorine), in the most appropriate quantities and proportions.
