Abstract
This Order approves for 2020 the Regulation for the Support Scheme for the Temporary Cessation of Coastal Trawling Fishing Activities. This Regulation, consisting of 17 articles and one Annex, establishes, within the framework of the EMFF, a support regime for the temporary cessation of fishing activities by shipowners and fisherfolks on coastal vessels licensed for bottom trawling. The support provided for in this Regulation is intended to compensate shipowners and fisherfolks for the temporary cessation of the activity of the coastal trawling fleet in 2020, motivated by the outbreak of the new Coronavirus (COVID-19). The Annex specifies the financial compensations to vessel owners.
