Portaria n. 268/2015 establishing the implementing regime of Assistance 7.8.3 "Conservation and improvement of animal genetic resources.

This Order, consisting of 3 Chapters and six Annexes, establishes the implementing regime of Assistance 7.8.3 "Conservation and improvement of animal genetic resources", integrated in action No. 7.8, "genetic resources" of the measure No. 7 "Agriculture and natural resources", set in the Area No. 3, "Environment, efficient use of resources and climate", of the Continental rural development programme (PDR 2020). Assistance provided has the following objectives: a) ensuring the conservation and improvement of animal genetic resources, indigenous and exotic breeds; b) ensuring the genetic characterization the races mentioned; c) promoting the progress of the features of interest in each race through genetic evaluation, the ultimate goal of breeding programmes; d) collecting and preserving genetic material in the Portuguese bank of animal germplasm.
