Abstract
This Regulatory Decree creates the National Council for Hunting and Wildlife Conservation (CNCCF), provided for in article 152 of Decree-Law No. 202/2004 of 18 August, and regulates its competences, composition and functioning. The CNCCF is a consultative body regarding the definition of national hunting policy and strategy, which works with the member of the Government responsible for the forestry area. The CNCCF is responsible for giving its opinion on: a) National hunting policy; b) Appropriate management of game species populations depending on the support capacity of the environment; c) Hunting exercise; d) All matters related to hunting activity on which the member of the Government responsible for the forestry sector whishes to be informed.
