Resolution of the Assembly of the Republic No. 100/2018 approving the Additional Protocol to the Treaty between the Republic of Portugal and the Republic of Cape Verde in the Field of Joint Supervision of Maritime Zones under Sovereignty or Jurisdiction of the Republic of Cape Verde, signed in Lisbon on 17 December 2014.

This Resolution of the Assembly of the Republic ratifies and implements in the National territory the Additional Protocol to the Treaty between the Republic of Portugal and the Republic of Cape Verde in the Field of Joint Supervision of Maritime Zones under Sovereignty or Jurisdiction of the Republic of Cape Verde, signed in Lisbon on 17 December 2014. The purpose of this Protocol is to regulate the allocation of additional resources to actions for the control of the above mentioned maritime areas, in accordance with Article 17 of the Treaty. The Joint Supervision of Maritime Zones under the sovereignty or jurisdiction of the Republic of Cape Verde may include, in addition to those identified in the Treaty, the following: a) Fixed- or rotary- wing aircraft of the Parties; b) Fixed- or rotary- wing aircraft of the Portuguese Party, with the obligatory presence of authorities of the Cape-Verdian Party on board, being the presence of foreign armed persons on board the Portuguese aircraft prohibited. The Portuguese Party participates, through the Ministry of National Defense, with aircraft of the Portuguese Air Force. The Cape Verdean part participates, through the Ministry of National Defense, with Coast Guard aircraft.
