Resolution of the Council of Ministers No. 115/2018 establishing a new strategic orientation for forestry management.

This Resolution of the Council of Ministers establishes to implement a new strategic orientation for forestry management based on the following objectives: a) reduce the average number of fire lighting and annual burned area; b) reduce the vulnerability of forestry areas to harmful biotic agents; c) recover and rehabilitate affected forest ecosystems; d) ensure that the areas most susceptible to desertification and erosion are managed in accordance with the appropriate technical standards; e) ensure the conservation of habitats and species of protected fauna and flora; f) increase the contribution of forests to climate change mitigation; g) promote active and professional forestry management; h) modernize and train forest enterprises; i) promote new products and markets through modernization and training of forestry companies; redefine the territory of the Regional Forestry Programmes (PROF) through the approval of specific programmes.
