Abstract
Chapter 10 is divided into 12 sections: Short title (1001); Findings (1002); Policy (1003); Definitions (1004); Administration of Chapter (1005); Regulations (1006); Prohibited acts (1007); Exceptions (1008); Importation of endangered species (1009); Importation of exotic animals and plants (1010); Confiscation of plants, equipment, etc., for violations (1011); Penalties for violation of chapter (1012).
"Animal" is defined as including fish, crustaceans, clams and corals. "Plant" is defined as including trees and fruit. "Endangered species" means any species which is in danger of extinction throughout all or a significant portion of its range. "Threatened species" means any species which is likely to become an endangered species within the foreseeable future. The Minister of Natural Resources shall administer provisions of this Chapter and issue regulations applying to this chapter including a list of endangered and threatened animals and plants. Taking, possession, trading in, and exporting of endangered or threatened species is forbidden subject to provisions of section 1008 in which exceptions are listed.
