The Palau Environmental Quality Protection Board’s (EQPB) 2021–2025 Strategic Plan focuses on strengthening the agency’s capacity to protect and conserve Palau’s environment while supporting sustainable economic and social development. The plan emphasizes improving environmental governance, regulatory enforcement, and monitoring programs; enhancing the management of water quality, waste, pollution, and other environmental resources; building institutional and workforce capacity within EQPB; increasing public awareness and environmental stewardship; and fostering stronger collaboration with national and state governments, communities, private-sector stakeholders, and development partners. Ultimately, the plan seeks to ensure that development activities in Palau are carried out in a manner that safeguards the nation’s unique natural resources and environmental quality for current and future generations.
