Provisions limit the taking of turtles, regulate the planting or cultivation of sponges, provide for the control of black-lip mother-of-pearl oyster shell harvesting, restrict the catching of dugongs and prohibit the export of clam meat. With respect to harvesting and cultivation of trochus, powers to declare open seasons or to prohibit harvesting of trochus or to precribe removal and replanting of trochus beds are granted to each of the state governments.
