Abstract
This Decree consisting of 12 articles aims at establishing the Qatar Ports Management Company, a shareholding company with the purpose of managing the ports, docks, dry ports and container terminals; organizing shipping, discharging, handling and storing of goods and container operation; and improving and developing the implementation of these services according to the best standards of quality in the management of ports. The Decree grants the company an exclusive concession right for a period of 15 years during which it shall be the only entity permitted to manage the ports, and the company shall pay the government an annual fee for this concession. The duration of the company is of 50 years, possible to be extended. All assets and liabilities of the General Authority for Customs and Ports regarding ports management shall be transferred to the company.
