Abstract
This Act consisting of 30 articles aims at protecting animals by regulating veterinary quarantine and organizing the import and export of all kinds of animals, their products and derivatives, offal feed, tools and biological preparations to and from Member States. Art.1 deals with terms and definitions. The Act provides for the following: (a) veterinary quarantine; (b) obtainment of licences for the importation and exportation of animals, animal products and feeds; (c) quarantine measures and analysis; (d) documents and certificates provided with animal consignments; (e) vaccination and transportation of animals; (f) disinfestations and disinfection; (g) measures and steps to be taken in case of exportation of animals and animal products; and (h) offences and penalties.

Every competent authority, each within its competence, shall implement the provisions of this Law, which shall be published in the Official Gazette.
