Abstract
This Law consisting of 13 articles establishes that Qatari and non-Qatari vessels can practice maritime business in Qatari waters only after obtaining licence from the competent department at the Ministry of Transport and Communications that shall issue terms and conditions for the issuance of licence. Applicants seeking license will submit their applications to the competent department. The competent department will issue a licence for practicing maritime business in Qatar only after receiving the prescribed fee. The licence shall also be granted a renewable period of one year, renewable for other similar periods. The provisions of this Law shall not apply to maritime business in areas operated or supervised by Qatar Petroleum.
