Agreement between the Government of Romania and the Government of the Republic of Moldova regarding the regulation of the construction of waterworks.

The Parties agree to allow the location of aqueducts, with the Prut river undercrossing, in the following localities: (a) between the localities of Mÿcÿreÿti (Romania) - Mÿcÿreÿti (Republic of Moldova); (b) in the sector of the locality of Tabÿra (Romania); (c) between the localities of Sculeni ( Romania) – Sculeni (Republic of Moldova); and (d) between the localities of Ungheni (Romania) - Ungheni (Republic of Moldova). The companies are obliged to notify, in advance, the competent authorities for state border about all the construction and use works, not to damage the state border signs, the technical means of surveillance, as well as not to generate the change of the Prut River bed. The execution of the aqueduct construction works will be initiated after obtaining to the companies of the necessary authorizations, in accordance with the legislation in force in the states of the Parties. The Parties ensure that the activities of construction and use of aqueducts will be executed in compliance with the applicable legal provisions in force in the state of the Party on whose territory the section of aqueduct in question is located. The Parties will take the necessary measures to ensure that the companies maintain the aqueducts in proper condition, throughout their use.
