Abstract
The Government of Romania and the Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, deciding to expand and develop mutual cooperation in the field of veterinary health, to ensure adequate protection against animal diseases and those caused by animal products characterized by an inadequate state of health, led by the determination to further develop relations between the two countries, to facilitate mutual trade in animals, semen, embryos, breeding eggs, animal products, medicines and other veterinary products, feed and other products and matters that can influence the health status of animals, have decided to conclude this agreement. The contracting parties will cooperate in order to protect the territories of their states against the introduction and transmission of animal diseases through the activity of import, export and transit of animals, semen, embryos, eggs for reproduction, products of animal origin, medicines and other products for veterinary use, feed and other products and materials that can influence the health status of animals. The veterinary sanitary authorities of the contracting parties, competent in the field of application of this Agreement, are: (a) National Veterinary Sanitary Agency within the Romanian Ministry of Agriculture, Forests, Waters and Environment; and (b) the Department of Animal Health within the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

Entry into force notes
This Agreement will enter into force 60 days after the date of the second notification by which the contracting parties will inform each other about the fulfillment of the procedures required by their legislation national in this case.
Notes
This Agreement is concluded for a period of 4 years and will be automatically extended for the next 4 years, if none of the contracting parties will notify the other contracting party, with at least 6 months before the expiration of the validity period, his intention to denounce this agreement. After 4 years from the entry into force of this Agreement, if it has not been denounced according to para. 1, any contracting party may denounce it. The Agreement expires 6 months after receiving the notice of termination. On the date of Romania's accession to the European Union, this agreement loses its validity.
