Agreement between the Ministry of Agriculture and Food from Romania and the Ministry of Agriculture from the Slovak Republic regarding cooperation in the field of agriculture and the food industry.

Economic and technical-scientific cooperation, as well as production cooperation between the two contracting parties will be carried out in the following main fields: (a) plant production, viticulture and horticulture: breeding, joint production of new varieties, exchange of seeds and genetic material of high productivity, modern production technologies, plant protection; (b) animal husbandry: cooperation in production, improvement of animal breeds and artificial insemination; (c) mechanization of agri-food production: testing and exchange of modern technologies of machines and equipment in the field of agricultural production, post-harvest processing and storage of agricultural products, irrigation and processing industry; (d) food production: cooperation in the field of harmonization of legal standards that regulate agriculture and the food industry with those from the European Union, exchange of technologies for processing agricultural raw materials, supporting the establishment of joint ventures in the food industry; (e) technical-scientific cooperation: supporting agricultural and food industry research institutes for carrying out research programs of common interest and exchange of specialists, information and scientific materials; (f) rural development: cooperation in the development of agricultural holdings in the mountain area and agritourism; and (g) improving the quality of soils in areas affected by erosion or other unfavorable factors.
