Agreement between the Republic of Turkey and Romania on the cooperation in the field of forestry.

This Agreement between the Republic of Turkey and Romania concerns cooperation in the field of forestry. The Parties agree upon cooperation for (i) combating desertification and erosion, watershed rehabilitation, afforestation, seedling and seed production techniques, (ii) biodiversity conservation, management of protected areas and preservation of natural resources, (iii) industrial processing and marketing of forest products, and inventory, industrial processing and marketing of non-wood forest products, (iv) improvement of forest services and green economy, (v) recreational forests, (vi) eco-tourism, (vii) water management and soil conservation, (viii) forest conservation by combatting forest fires, harmful diseases and pests, and (ix) development of forest villages within sustainable forest development. The Parties shall develop cooperation by exchange of scientific and technical information and documents, as well as of experts, consultants, researchers and NGO members, and by development of joint projects and research. The Parties may organize training programs, meetings, conferences, and symposiums. This Agreement may be amended by mutual written consent. A Joint Committee shall be established. The dispute may be solved through negotiation. The Agreement is valid for an indefinite period and remains in force until being terminated within three months by one of the Party.
