AGREEMENT - FRAMEWORK for cooperation between the Government of Romania and the Government of the Republic of Tunisia in the agricultural field.

This Agreement aims to promote and strengthen bilateral scientific and technical cooperation in the agricultural field. The two parties will establish and strengthen relations, in particular in the following areas: (a) plant production: the selection and production of seeds, especially seed of potatoes; (b) the use of modern technologies for agricultural crops (horticulture, viticulture, fodder crops, etc.); (c) the use of methods and means of biological control and protection of plants; (d) the development of relations between economic operators from the two countries in the field of commercialization of agricultural products from the plant sector; (d) animal husbandry: favoring the use of modern animal breeding methods; (e) water and soil conservation: integrated development of basins and slopes; (f) sustainable rural development; (g) agricultural scientific research; and (h) academic and professional training in the agricultural field. The cooperation shall be performed in the following forms: (a) exchange of technical-scientific information, experience and visits by experts, technicians and trainees; (b) exchange of samples of seeds and plant material; and (c) carrying out joint agricultural scientific research projects. The two parties will act to promote the agricultural and agri-food partnership by encouraging the participation Romanian and Tunisian private economic operators at agricultural fairs and exhibitions, as well as at information days, seminars and other activities organized in Romania and the Tunisian Republic, to allow them to establish direct contacts and inform each other about investment opportunities existing in the two countries.
