AGREEMENT of July 16 , 2008 between the Government of Romania and the Government of Turkmenistan regarding economic and technical-scientific cooperation.

The contracting parties will make every effort to develop and strengthen economic and technical-scientific cooperation in all areas that may be of mutual interest and advantage, taking into account the national legislative framework, as well as the international obligations of their states. This cooperation will be aimed, in particular, at: (a) strengthening and diversifying the economic relations between the states of the contracting parties; (b) stimulating new contacts and developing the existing ones between economic operators from the states of the contracting parties, in order to implement common projects; and (c) stimulating collaboration between the competent bodies of the states of the contracting parties, in order to organize and intensify various forms of economic cooperation. The cooperation will be carried out between the contracting parties, in particular, but not exclusively, in the field of agriculture. The contracting parties will consult in order to identify the priority areas of cooperation. The contracting parties will make every effort to create favorable conditions for the expansion of economic and technical-scientific cooperation, in particular by: (a) creating a favorable investment climate; (b) encouraging the exchange of economic information; (c) supporting the establishment of contacts between economic operators from two countries; and (d) facilitating the organization of exhibitions, fairs and symposia, held on the territory of the states of the contracting parties.
