Abstract
This Decision sets out the rules and provisions that shall apply to the environmental impact assessment of those public and private projects that may have significant effects on the environment, as regards the territory of Romania.
At the end of article 36, there is a list of thematic European Union legislation that has been transposed into the national legislative order. Article 4 states that the environmental impact assessment procedure is an integral part of the development approval procedure. The environmental impact assessment shall identify, describe and assess, as appropriate and in each case, in accordance with the provisions of this Decision, the direct and indirect effects of a project on the following factors: a) human beings, fauna and flora; b) soil, water, air, climate and landscape; c) material goods and cultural heritage; d) the interaction between these factors.
The Annex is also part of this publication (containing list of projects subject to this kind of environmental impact assessment).
