Abstract
The production of foodstuffs intended for commercialization is carried out under the conditions provided for by this Ordinance, mainly aiming at the protection of life, health of the population and the environment, satisfying the consumption needs of all categories of consumers and respecting hygiene and environmental conditions during the manufacture, handling, storage and transportation of foodstuffs. The provisions of this Ordinance are mandatory for all economic agents, legal entities, regardless of the form of organization and type of ownership, family associations or natural persons authorized to carry out an independent economic activity. Economic agents that carry out activities in the field of food production intended for commercialization have the obligation to take the necessary measures to eliminate the risk of contamination or degradation of the foodstuffs and their transformation into improper products for human consumption. The Ministry of Agriculture and Food shall be the competent authority for issuing licenses for manufacturing of foodstuffs intended for commercialization. Food products made in the country or those imported, subject to a technological process, must have such a composition and quality that they do not constitute a danger for the human body, from a physical point of view, chemical, microbiological, toxicological, parasitological or of the level of radioactivity. Only food additives approved by specialized bodies of the Ministry of Health shall be used in the manufacture of foodstuffs.
