Government Resolution no. 230 regarding the delimitation of biosphere reserves, national parks and natural parks and the establishment of their administrations.

This Government Resolution establishes that biosphere reserves, national parks and natural parks are classified in the categories corresponding to the protection status as defined by international agreements. Its primary objective is to ensure the conservation of natural habitats, flora, and fauna while promoting sustainable use of natural resources. The structures that ensure the administration of the protected natural area on a contractual basis are obliged to draw up and periodically review its regulations and management plan. The management structures of biosphere reserves, national parks and natural parks will monitor the application of the regulation and the management plan by all owners and administrators of goods and land within the biosphere reserves, national parks and natural parks, who will continue to manage the goods owned or entrusted, in compliance with the legislation in force and the regulations specific to the protected area. The central public authority for environmental protection will support, within the allocated budget, both the activities of the structures under its subordination, as well as the implementation of some of the activities included in the management plans of the protected natural areas entrusted to the structures under coordination, based on the approved projects. Local public administration authorities shall ensure the highlighting of the boundaries of biosphere reserves, national parks and natural parks, whose identification elements are provided in Annex No. 1, in the territorial and urban development plans.
