Governmental Decision No. 22 validating the Regulation on the Ministry of Family, Youth and Equal Opportunities.

The Ministry of Family, Youth and Equal Opportunities carries out national policies, correlated with those at European and international level, in the fields of family policies, youth, child rights protection and adoption, domestic violence and equal opportunities between women and men, fulfilling the role of state authority, strategy and planning, regulation, synthesis, coordination, monitoring and control. The Ministry of Family, Youth and Equal Opportunities exercises, in accordance with the acting legislation, in its own fields of competence, the following functions: (a) strategy and planning, through which elaborates, updates and coordinates the application of strategies, plans and programs in its fields of activity; (b) elaborates public policy documents in its fields of activity; (c) ensures the development of research, studies and forecasts for the foundation of policies, strategies and programs in its fields of activity; (d) ensures the legal and institutional framework for facilitating and stimulating dialogue on policies, strategies and decisions arising from its fields of activity; (d) regulation, synthesis and approval, through which elaborates projects of normative acts in its fields of activity; (e) approves draft normative acts developed by other ministries and authorities of the central public administration that concern the fields of family policies, youth, protection of children's rights and adoption, domestic violence and equal opportunities between women and men; (f) issues regulatory acts in its fields of activity, according to legal provisions; (g) ensures the inclusion of measures intended for the fields of family policies, youth, the protection of children's rights and adoption, domestic violence and equal opportunities between women and men within the policies and strategies developed at the level of the Romanian Government; and (h) representation, through which it represents the Government in relations with institutions and bodies, internal, European and international organizations and associations in its fields of activity, promoting the national interest.
