Abstract
This Law approves the Romanian National territory spatial planning plan, here in particular Section V, containing provisions on natural risk areas, according to Annexes 1-7 of this publication.
For the purposes of this Law, areas of natural risk are geographically delimited areas, within which there is a potential for the production of destructive natural phenomena, which may affect the population, human activities, natural and built environment and may cause damage. The areas of natural risk caused by earthquakes, floods and landslides are object of this Law. Risk areas caused by other natural phenomena are subject to different specific regulations. The geographical delimitation of a natural risk areas is based on specific studies and research elaborated by specialized institutions, materialized through natural risk maps approved by the specialized bodies of local and central public competent administration.
