Abstract
These Norms, consisting of six Chapters and five Annexes, establish the nature, content, production, quality, packaging, labelling, storage and transport of canned tomatoes. These Norms provide for the minimum requirements for food safety, hygiene, quality and product identification, including food additive limits, to be observed in manufacturing and/or marketing of tomatoes canned in Romania. These Norms aim to ensure that food do not represent a risk for human health and are presented correctly, according to the basic principles of consumer protection. The regulations do not apply for canned tomatoes prepared in individual households for their own consumption and for products that are in transit or stored temporarily as goods transiting the country, if they do not present a danger to human health or the environment.
