Order No. 21 of the National Sanitary Veterinary and Food Safety Authority validating the Sanitary-Veterinary Regulation regarding the biosecurity conditions in the commercial poultry holdings, as well as the conditions regarding the movement of live birds and the by-products derived from them.

Abstract
This Sanitary-Veterinary Regulation establishes the conditions of biosecurity conditions for the issuance of sanitary-veterinary authorization/registration for commercial poultry holdings, as well as the conditions for the movement of live birds and poultry products. Biosecurity shall be intended the set of physical and administrative measures intended to reduce the risk of the introduction, development and spread of diseases. Commercial poultry farm shall be intended the zootechnical unit that provides conditions for purchase of live birds and eggs for incubation for the purpose of breeding, exploitation and their marketing. Commercial poultry holding shall be intended holding of poultry requiring sanitary-veterinary registration/authorization procedure, availability of transport means and storage facilities for poultry products intended for human consumption. A newly established commercial poultry holding must be located at a minimum distance from other commercial holdings of the same type in accordance with the table contained in the Annex 1. A biosecurity area shall be established around all commercial poultry holdings within a radius of at least 200 meters. The perimeter of the commercial poultry holding must be fenced continuously made of durable materials and which must ensure a good isolation, located so as not to allow access to other animals, extraneous people and motor vehicles. Each commercial poultry holding must ensure good procedures, general and specific management practices governing access of people and vehicles to the production area. Accommodation for birds must be well demarcated, sectored on categories of exploitation, and the conditions of growth and exploitation must be in compliance with acting veterinary and food safety legislation. This Sanitary-Veterinary Regulation establishes the conditions for feeding poultry.
