Abstract
This veterinary sanitary norm establishes the general biosecurity rules for the operation of cattle breeding farms. cattle breeding National cattle breeding systems consists of the following: (a) cattle breeding system in family agricultural holdings, in which the products of animal origin resulting from them are intended for family consumption; (b) commercial system of raising cattle in commercial agricultural holdings, from which they are sold on the unifies market of European live animals and products of animal origin. Owners of cattle in commercial cattle breeding farms have the following obligations: (a) registration and issuance of veterinary-sanitary authorization; (b) ensuring veterinary sanitary assistance provided by the independent veterinarian; (c) ensuring application of the veterinary sanitary rules regarding the population, protection and well-being of cattle and health surveillance programs; (d) provision of disinfection; (e) ensuring separate shelter for cattle newly introduced into the holding until the health status is clarified; (f) ensuring reproduction of cattle through natural mating or artificial insemination, only with sanitary-veterinary authorized bulls or appropriate semen; and (g) provision of spaces for storing corpses and other waste of animal origin intended for destruction. In order to prevent the introduction of infectious diseases, the owner of the registered holding with sanitary-veterinary authorization can draw up and implement his own biosecurity program, developed in accordance with the procedures that are based on the general rules of biosecurity. Cattle owners from family agricultural holdings have the following obligations: (a) to comply with the legal provisions in force regarding ensuring the reproduction of cattle from the farm only by using sanitary-veterinary authorized breeders; (b) to declare to the authorized free-practice veterinarian cattle owned thereby, by breed, sex and age category; (c) to show to the authorized veterinarian cattle for mandatory examination; and (d) to notify without delay the county health-veterinary and food safety department the appearance of signs of disease in cattle and emergency slaughtering.
