Order No. 412 of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Forests validating the derogation related to the steppe viper species (Vipera ursinii moldavica).

This Order, in derogation of the acting legislation, authorizes the capture of a total of 40 specimens of the steppe viper species (Vipera ursinii moldavica) from the site ROSCI0058 Dealul luu Duuhou (Iasi) and a total of 30 specimens from the site ROSCI0065 Sfântu Gheorghe (Tulcea). The derogation is established from the date of entry into force of this order until September 30, 2023, as follows: - a total of 40 copies between April 1 and September 30 in the years 2022 and 2023 from the site ROSCI0058 Hill of God (Iasi); – a total of 30 specimens between April 1 and September 30 in the years 2022 and 2023 from the site ROSCI0065 Sfântu Gheorghe (Tulcea). Capture, measurement, weighing, determination of sex, determining the coordinates of the place of capture, with the help of GPS devices, as well as the subsequent release of the specimens at the place where they were captured is carried out only by the Faculty of Biology, University "Alexandru Ioan Cuza" from Iaÿi, with specialized technical staff. Venom, tissue samples for genetic analysis, as well as fecal samples will be taken according to the specifications mentioned by the specialized staff in the exemption request form.
