Abstract
This Regulation establishes the procedure for identification and registration of equine animals related to breeding and keeping equine animals in the open air on a permanent or temporary basis, by natural or legal persons, with the exception of veterinary offices or clinics. Equine animals shall be intended wild soliped mammals or domestic animals of all species of the genus Equus of the equine family and their crossbreeds. Registered thoroughbred horses/equine animals shall be intended horses of officially known and recognized origin, entered in genealogical registers (herd books). Equine animals of unknown origin shall be intended equine animals whose ancestry is partially completely unknown. Equidae certificate shall be intended equine identification document, issued by the National Agency for Animal Husbandry „Prof. dr. GK Constantinescu " (ANZ), Regional Animal Husbandry Office (OJZ) and Regional Center for Animal Husbandry (CRZ), which is issued at the request of the owner/holder of the equine animals. Identification shall be intended the action of implanting the transponder to equine animal, completion of the identification and registration sheet for equine animal, handing it over to ANZ/OJZ and operating the data in the Equine Identification and Registration System. This Order establishes the activities, attributions, responsibilities, rules and documents related to the activity of identification and registration of equine animals, by registering users and farms, individual identification of each animal and registration of each movement thereof. Only identified and registered equine animals shall be authorized for circulation on the national territory. The identification and registration of equine animals with the exception of thoroughbred horses, shall be carried out by authorized veterinarians. The identification and registration of equine animals is the responsibility of the owners/keepers of the animals.
