Order No. 82 of the National Sanitary Veterinary and Food Safety Authority validating the Methodological Rules for the application of the provisions of the Government Decision no. 617/2014 on establishing the institutional framework and measures for the implementation of Regulation (EU) no. 528/2012 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 22 May 2012 on the making available on the market and use of biocidal products.

These Methodological Rules establish that the biocidal products are placed on the market and used on the Romanian territory only if: (a) they are authorized according to the provisions of this Regulation; and (b) have labels and the safety data sheet in Romanian. All documents necessary for the authorization of a biocidal product shall be submitted in Romanian and in English. The Ministry of Health has the following responsibilities: (a) may restrict or prohibit the use of biocidal products in drinking water intended for public supply; (b) approves the authorization model for a biocidal product or a family of biocidal products; and (c) may allow the making available on the market or use of a biocidal product that does not meet the conditions for authorization provided for in these Methodological Rules.
