Directive on the manner of official control of food production facilities of animal origin in the process of approval for export to the European Union market, as well as for procedures aimed at suspension and withdrawal from the List of third country establishments ("non- EU countries") approved for export to the EU.

This Directive regulates the manner of official control of animal origin food production facilities for the purpose of issues related to the process of approval for export to the European Union market, as well as on the procedure for suspension and withdrawal from the List of third country establishments ("non- European Union countries") approved for export to the European Union.
These procedure shall be in accordance with several European Union documents as follows: Regulation (EC) No. 178/2002 of the European Parliament and of the Council laying down the general principles and requirements of food law, establishing the European Food Safety Authority and laying down procedures in matters of food safety; Regulation (EC) No. 852/2004 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the hygiene of foodstuffs; Regulation (EC) No. 853/2004 of the European Parliament and of the Council laying down specific hygiene rules for the hygiene of foodstuffs; Council Regulation (EC) No. 1099/2009 on the protection of animals at the time of killing; and Regulation (EU) 2017/625 of the European Parliament and of the Council on official controls and other official activities performed to ensure the application of food and feed law, rules on animal health and welfare, plant health and plant protection products.
