Abstract
This Law amends, adds and cancels several provisions of the Food Safety Law (originally published in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia 41/2009).
Changes are related to the entire text, including different modifications trough the text, including the added definitions as follows (article 4): Internationally accepted standards, guidelines, guides and recommendations are those developed within the framework of the United Nations Food and Food Organization agriculture (FAO), World Health Organization (WHO), Commission Codex Alimentarius, International Animal Health Organization (OIE), International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC), European and Mediterranean Plant Protection Organization (EPPO), International Association Chemical Analysts (AOAC), the International Collaborative Council for pesticide analytics (CIPAC), the European Organization for Cooperation and Development (OECD), European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), International standardization organizations (ISO), etc.
Article 5 is amended (food classification): food of animal origin; food of plant origin; mixed foods containing vegetable and animal ingredients origin; food of neither vegetable or animal origin (minerals, salt); new food; genetically modified food and genetically modified food for animals, food and feed obtained from genetically modified animals organisms, in accordance with dedicated legislation. Also several inspection related provisions are been modified.

Entry into force notes
This Law enters into force on the eighth day after its publication in the Official Gazette, however it shall start applying from 1 April 2019.
