Law amending the Water Law.

Type of law

This Law completely re-edits and amends most of the articles of the Water Law (Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia 30/2010 and 93/2012).
This Law is redefining, adding and cancelling several basic provisions as regards the general water sector and ownership of all state based water resources, water management and necessary waterworks, actions and rules also terms of duties and powers of the state administration in relation with local powers.
Principal changes are structured starting with basic definitions and general terms; (in article 5) the global water definition is changed in a manner that declares that waters are natural wealth, owned by the Republic of Serbia ; general provisions on water rights, water supply and autonomous province related issues; state owned water resources and their management (in article 9 and 10); classification of water areas; issues regarding the water related action plans and other strategic documents; (in article 75) sanitary and quality water issues; inspection provisions; offences and penalties, and many other changes (105 articles are here amended).

Entry into force notes
This Law enters into force eight days after its publication in the Official Gazette, except for the provisions of articles 18 and 79-86 that will apply on 1 January 2017.
