Abstract
This publication, as in accordance with the Law on planning system of the Republic of Serbia, provides for the Programme for women's empowerment in the field of information and communication technologies for the period 2019-2020. The Constitution of the Republic of Serbia provides the legal basis for the introduction and regulation of gender equality in Serbia and establishes gender equality as a basic constitutional principle. The Constitution establishes the obligation of the state to guarantee equality between women and men and to develop a policy of equal opportunities (Article 15), as well as the principle of non-discrimination on the grounds of sex. The specific goals of improving women's participation in the ICT sector are determined, as well as program measures and activities whose implementation should contribute to reducing the gender gap in the digital sector, as well as social and economic empowerment of women and regional representation of women in this area.
