Abstract
This Regulation determines the Plan for extraction of river sediments as regards the river beds located on the territory of the Republic of Serbia. The complete text of the plan is part of this publication.
The plan for extraction of river sediments defines the planned locations for extraction of river sediments and planned quantities of river sediments for extraction; it also lists the locations where extraction of river sediments is not allowed and locations where extraction of river sediments may be allowed.
River beds considered in this text are as follows: Danube, Sava, Drina, Velika (Great) Morava, South Morava and West Morava.
On the rivers covered by the Plan, the planned extraction of river sediments should: provide riverbed capacity and reduce the risk of floods; improve the hydraulic flow regime and the current picture in the riverbed and ensure greater stability of the riverbed, banks and existing water bodies; improve navigation conditions on international and interstate waterways; reduce the negative impact on the environment and preserve the natural balance of aquatic and coastal ecosystems; provide quantities of sand and gravel for the construction material market.
