Abstract
This Regulation determines the contents of the official national Programme for monitoring of food safety for imported foods of animal origin and animal feed for 2019.
Monitoring includes food of animal origin and animal feed which is imported into the Republic of Serbia and is implemented at certain border crossings where veterinary control is carried out, in accordance with the relevant national legislation; and at places where unloading the consignment (authorized warehouses).
This Programme is applied for veterinary and sanitary purposes and related controls, in order to ensure that the imported food of animal origin and food for animals meet the requirements of safety and quality as well as such food and feed produced in the Republic Serbia.
The monitoring Programme, object of this Regulation, is based on the assessment of import risks, and will take in account the following principles: control over the possible exposure of domestic consumers to specific consignments imported from foreign countries; analysis of the history of findings of biological and chemical risks in particular consignments; use and exchange of data and information from the RASFF system (Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed).
