Abstract
This Regulation here establishes the Monitoring Program for the safety of imported food of animal origin and imported animal feed for the year 2023, which is attached to in the Annex of this text. Monitoring of food of animal origin and animal feed is the systematic implementation of sampling and testing of food of animal origin and animal feed, collection, processing and evaluation of data on the results of testing, in order to monitor the level of compliance with the regulations governing the safety of food of animal origin and animal feed. The monitoring program is implemented for the purpose of veterinary and sanitary control, in order to ensure that imported food of animal origin and animal feed meet the safety and quality requirements, as well as food of animal origin and animal feed produced in the Republic of Serbia and placed on the market of the Republic of Serbia. This specific type of monitoring control covers food of animal origin and animal feed which is imported into the Republic of Serbia, and is carried out: 1) at designated border crossings where veterinary and sanitary control is carried out, in accordance with the law governing veterinary medicine; 2) at the place of unloading of the consignment in warehouses approved or registered in accordance with a special regulation.
