Abstract
This Regulation determines and lists the necessary parameters of ecological and chemical status for water in rivers and lakes, parameters of ecological potential for artificial water bodies and significantly changed water bodies and parameters of chemical and quantitative status of groundwater, on the basis of which the status assessment for surface and groundwater bodies shall be performed.
Ecological status and ecological potential are determined on the basis of parameters classified into the following quality elements: biological; chemical and physico-chemical which are of importance for biological elements for a given category of surface water and for specific type of surface water body; hydro-morphological which are of importance for biological elements for each given category of surface water and related water body.
The chemical status of surface waters is determined in relation to the limit values of priority substances and priority hazardous substances and in respect of limit values of other pollutants that are important for the chemical status of surface water bodies.
The quantitative status of groundwater bodies is determined on the basis of the following parameters: groundwater level; quantities of affected waters; yield of sources; quantities of water for artificial use. Depending on the type of aquifer, the following parameters can be used to determine the quantitative status of a specific groundwater body: flow and water level on watercourses; factors such as precipitation, and grade of infiltration and percentage of evaporation; water temperature data; specific electrical conductivity as an indicator of the penetration of highly mineralized waters.
