Regulation on processing aids in food production.

This Regulation prescribes the requirements that must be met by processing aids, including extraction solvents, used or intended to be used in the production of food or food ingredients, as well as the List of processing aids that may be used in food production. The rules here provided shall apply to processing aids, including extraction solvents, used or intended to be used in the production of food or food ingredients. However these rules are not meant for extraction solvents used in the production of food additives, vitamins and other substances with a nutritional or physiological effect, unless those food additives, vitamins or substances with a nutritional or physiological effect are listed in Annex 1 which is part of this text.
