Abstract
This Regulation prescribes the necessary reference conditions for all types of watercourse, except for artificial ones, that shall correspond to values of excellent ecological status and related quality elements for each type of watercourse.
This text defines that abiotic parameters are the characteristics of watercourses which are a combination of geographical, hydro-morphological and physico-chemical parameters; and that biological quality parameters are parameters related to the occurrence and distribution of living organisms of aquatic ecosystems and serve to assess the ecological status.
The Annex is part of this publication (containing technical sheets and list pf reference conditions for hydro-morphological parameters and type of specific reference value of selected biological and physicochemical parameters for watercourses, except artificial).
