Agreement between the Federal Service for Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring of the Russian Federation and the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences on scientific and technical cooperation in the field of hydrometeorology and environmental monitoring.

The Parties shall carry out and develop cooperation in the field of hydrometeorology and environmental monitoring on the basis of equality, reciprocity and mutual benefit. In the course of cooperation, the Parties shall ensure organization and coordination of work in the following main areas: (a) numerical weather forecasting and data assimilation; (b) hydrology; (c) marine meteorology; (d) agrometeorology; (e) assessment of climatic resources; (f) research in cloud physics and active cloud physics and active effects on hydrometeorological processes; (g) radar meteorology; (h) data collection issues; (i) monitoring of environmental pollution, including radioactive pollution monitoring; (j) issues of hydrometeorological instruments and equipment and metrological support of measurements; (k) specialized hydrometeorological services for consumers on the territory of Russia and Bulgaria; (l) personnel training issues; (m) cooperation and coordination of the Parties' activities at the regional and international levels, especially within the framework of WMO and the Regional Committee on the Black Sea of the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission of UNESCO Black Sea Regional Committee; and (o) other areas of cooperation as deemed appropriate by the Parties to further develop scientific and technical cooperation.
