Agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan on cooperation in the field of fisheries.

The scope of this Agreement is to develop cooperation in the field of fisheries between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Uzbekistan on a mutually beneficial and equal basis in accordance with the legislation of the states of the Parties. The Parties are developing cooperation in the following main areas: (a) exchange of information and documentation on fisheries issues of mutual interest to the States of the Parties; (b) conducting research in the field of fisheries, developing and implementing scientific and technical programs; (c) aquaculture development; (d) training and advanced training of personnel for the fishing industry, sending specialists for exchange of experience; (d) development and implementation of joint projects in the field of fishing, aquaculture, processing, storage, transportation and sale of fish and other products from aquatic biological resources; (e) development of technology for the extraction (catch) and processing of fish and other fisheries, including the quality and safety of products; (f) development of types of production related to fishing activities; (g) joint study and approval of investment projects and assistance in attracting investments for the reconstruction of old and construction of new fish breeding and fish production enterprises, as well as fish processing enterprises based on modern technologies; and (h) organization and holding of bilateral meetings, seminars, consultations, thematic classes and exhibitions in the field of fisheries and aquaculture.
