Federal Law No. 179-FZ "On the basics of transboundary cooperation".

This Federal Law regulates relations in the sphere of transboundary cooperation, determines principles, tasks and directions thereof. Transboundary cooperation shall be regulated by international agreements. Subject of transboundary cooperation of the Russian Federation shall be authorized to carry out cooperation in the following spheres: (a) economy; (b) transport; (c) energy; (d) science; (e) tourism; (f) public health; (g) ecology and nature management; (h) agriculture, forestry and fisheries; and (i) prevention of natural disasters. This Federal Law defines the sphere of competence of federal, regional bodies and local government in the sphere of transboundary cooperation.
