Abstract
Ecological education shall be one of the principal activities entrusted to the administration of protected areas. Educational activity shall be conducted by means and methods complying with the status of protected areas. The purposes of educational activities shall be: (a) support of the activity of protected areas by vast strata of the population; (b) solution of regional ecological problems; and (c) formation of ecological conscience and ecological culture among the population. Ecological education shall be carried out by the officials of protected areas. Ecological tourism shall be promoted as a traditional form of ecological education.
