Ministerial Decree No. 377 validating the Regulation on forest management.

This Ministerial Decree regulates forest management of the forest estate, urban forests and forested protected areas. Forest management shall include: (a) projecting of forestry and forest parks; (b) projecting of commercial forests, protection forest, unexploited forest, protection forest and protected forest plots; (c) projecting of the forest plots; (d) mapping; and (e) forest protection arrangements. Classification of forests shall be carried out as follows: (a) commercial forest for timber extraction; (b) protection forests where timber extraction can be authorized if it complies with protection functions thereof; and (c) unexploited forest where timber extraction shall be prohibited for the period of 20 years. Forest management shall be carried out in accordance with forest organization instruction validated by the Ministry of Natural Resources.
