Ministerial Decree No.777 of 2000 regarding validation of the Regulation on the Ministry of Energy.

The Premier decrees to validate the Regulation. Ministry of Energy is Federal Executive Body entitled to carry out state policy in the sphere of fuel and energy complex of the Russian Federation as well as coordination of activity in this sphere of other Federal Executive Bodies. The Ministry carries out its activity either directly or through its regional offices of state energy survey – territorial branches of the Ministry. The main tasks of the Ministry are: 1. elaboration of the proposals on energy policy; 2. organization of provision of the needs of the national economy and population in fuel and energy, their rational and safe use; 3. state survey over carrying out arrangements ensuring safe management of power stations and efficient use of energy resources; 4. assistance to the creation of legal and economic conditions ensuring efficient and sustainable functioning and development of fuel and energy complex.
