Abstract
This order validates General Fisheries Regulation that establishes common fisheries rules for each waterbody. It regulates fisheries in the inland waters, including internal sea, territorial sea, continental shelf, EEZ of the Russian Federation, and also in the Sea of Azov and in the Caspian Sea. This General Fisheries Regulation shall not be applicable to the fisheries for scientific research purposes. The Regulation establishes: (a) the rights and the duties of the users carrying out fisheries and harvest of aquatic biological resources; (b) the list of documents authorizing fisheries; (c) requirements for fisheries; (d) prohibited fishing areas; (e) prohibited seasons; (f) prohibited species; (g) fishing gear and fishing methods; (h) minimum mesh size, dimensions and rigging of the fishing gear; (h) authorized bycatch of fry; and (j) authorized bycatch of one species during the fisheries of another species.
