Order No. 169 of the Ministry of Natural Resources validating the Instruction on complex management and protection of water bodies.

This Order establishes the modalities for elaborating complex schemes to manage and protect waterbodies in order to: (a) determine permissible anthropogenic impacts on water bodies; (b) calculate long-term demand for water resources; and (c) prevent negative impacts on water bodies. The purpose of this scheme shall be to enhance water quality standards in river basins and reduce the negative impacts of flooding. Water management schemes shall be used to: (a) plan and implement water management and protection arrangements; (b) elaborate regional and municipal water management and protection arrangements; (c) revise water charges; (d) regulate water use, including allowable water abstraction and discharge of effluent waste water and drainage water; and (e) set recreational and protected areas and prevent negative impacts on waterbodies.
