These Rules determine the mode of use, including the mode of filling and discharge, of the Novovoronezh water reservoir. The Novovoronezh water reservoir is a bulk reservoir, formed by a pressure hydraulic system and does not have a regulating capacity. A location map indicating the boundaries of hydrographic units and water management areas, the hydroelectric complex and the Novovoronezh water reservoir with the location of the post of the hydrometric network for observing the water regime of waterbodies is supplied in Annex No. 1. The main hydraulic structures of the Novovoronezh Reservoir hydroelectric complex include: hydraulic structures of the pressure front, the enclosing dam of the reservoir and the siphon spillway, as well as a complex of hydraulic structures of power unit No. 5 of the Novovoronezh NPP. The characteristics of the maximum flow rates and water levels in the lower and upper reaches of the Novovoronezh water reservoir hydroelectric complex during the passage of high waters and floods are not established due to the fact that the reservoir is of a bulk type and does not participate in the passage of maximum flow rates. The water resources of the Novovoronezh water reservoir are used to provide industrial water supply and cooling of the heat exchange equipment of power unit No. 5 of the Novovoronezh NPP, as well as to carry out annual flushing of the water reservoir. The regime for using the water resources of the Novovoronezh water reservoir is assigned based on the water level in it, in accordance with the dispatch work schedule contained in the Annex 4. To notify about emergency and emergency deviations from the normal operating mode of the Novovoronezh water reservoir hydroelectric complex, a local warning system has been deployed at the facility.
