Abstract
This Regional Law regulates relations originating in the process of bee raising regarding honey bees (Apis mellifera), use thereof for pollination of agricultural entomophilous plants, obtaining apiculture products, protection of honey bees, improvement of apiculture efficiency and safeguarding rights and legal interests of natural and legal persons carrying out bee raising activity. The scope of this Regional Law shall be as follows: (a) protection of honey bees and sources of honey yield; (b) use of bees for pollination of crops with a view of raising crop productivity; and (c) increase of the output of apiculture products (art. 2). State support out of regional budget shall be granted in the following fields: (a) pedigree bee breeding and conservation of bee genetic resources; (b) anti-epizootic arrangements; and (c) promotion of regional apiculture products (art. 4). Bee farmers shall be granted the right to set up non-governmental beekeeping associations (art. 7). Bee families shall be subject to registration by the local executive bodies. Owners of apiaries must be in possession of veterinary and sanitary certificate and submit them no less than once a year to the state veterinary service for updating records related to veterinary and sanitary state of apiaries (art. 9). Raising productivity of agricultural entomophilous plants through pollination shall be regulated by contracts concluded between the producers of agricultural commodities and bee keepers (art. 11).
